When you have overcrowded teeth, uneven spaces between teeth, and a bad bite, it affects your appearance and how you feel about yourself. A misaligned smile also complicates oral hygiene, affects oral functions, and causes dental wear.
Hosaka Dental can straighten your teeth without putting your life on hold. Instead of using metal braces, Drs. Erick Hosaka and Valerie Cassis of Chevy Chase, Maryland, use Invisalign treatment to perfect the smiles of adults using customized, clear, and removable trays.
Orthodontic treatments apply controlled pressure on the teeth to shift them into proper alignment. Instead of permanently attaching metal wires and brackets to the teeth, Invisalign has transparent aligner trays that can be removed at will.
Invisalign can help fix:
Invisalign can treat most orthodontic problems, although complex cases may require metal braces or jaw surgery. Invisalign is also ideal for teeth that have relapsed after the initial orthodontic treatment. The system allows easier adjustments to restore the initial correction.
The first step in perfecting your smile with Invisalign is visiting a certified office like Hosaka Dental. We’ll assess your teeth and jaw to determine if Invisalign is the best treatment. If so, we digitally scan your mouth to create a 3D simulation of your treatment plan. This way, we can determine how and when each tooth moves to its desired position.
If happy with the treatment, we order a series of teeth aligners from an Invisalign lab. The lab technicians create bespoke aligners using your digital scans to create a smile that is uniquely yours. It takes about two to three weeks to fabricate your aligners. When they are ready, you’ll pick them up from our office as we give you instructions on how to wear and maintain them.
You must wear your aligners 20-22 hours daily. Each set is changed regularly (usually after two weeks) until you achieve the desired goal. When you complete your treatment, we recommend wearing a retainer to prevent relapse.
Invisalign uses minimally visible teeth aligners, attracting many patients who may feel insecure wearing conspicuous metal braces.

Invisalign allows you to straighten your teeth with minimal disruptions to your everyday life. It’s your teeth we want to move, not your life.
